30-Day List Building Challenge | Final Update & Spilling The Beans!

Hey guys!

Today I am super excited as I am about to reveal my final update on my 30-day list building challenge along with ALL the traffic sources that I have been using over the past 30 days. Keep reading, because you’re in for an exciting ride.

First things first: if you haven’t been following this challenge since the beginning, check part 1 and part 2 here:

So as you have seen, I haven’t reached my initial goal of 1,000 subscribers because I changed my mind about using Facebook ads. The reason is because, since I got so many great results with free traffic sources.

However, I am pretty certain that I can definitely reach my goal. If I have managed to get 500+ subscribers in 30 days, I can definitely do more!

So without further ado, here’s what everyone’s been waiting for: the traffic sources that I have used. Here goes…

Let’s start with the free traffic sources that I used first. Well, although I really am not a big fan of calling them “free”, because they do cost time and effort, they don’t cost money:

Warrior Forum (WF):

I spent a lot of time in the Warrior Forum hanging out and interacting with other people in the community. A lot of people will tell you that WF is old school and that it doesn’t work anymore, or that it doesn’t get you the traffic that you need and all that stuff… But I still believe that it’s a goldmine if you know how to use it properly.

The key with WF or with any other forum is to post meaningful comments or start good topics (threads) that are really helping others. You need to position yourself as an authority so that people follow you and are curious about you. If you deliver good information, they will want to know more and they will click on your signature. Find out more about how to use forums properly in my other blog post here.

Quora:

Maybe you have heard about this website and maybe you haven’t. In either case, if you’re not using Quora to drive traffic to your blog, you’re missing out on some really cool traffic. The sites is currently sitting at a position of 122 in Alexa. Ya think you can get traffic from there? I’ll let you answer that.

Quora is very similar to Yahoo Answers; where people ask questions and that’s where you come in to be the authority or the expert answering questions and offering value. Again, the more value you offer, the more people will be intrigues to know more about you.

Twitter:

Since my last update, my Twitter followers haven’t grown much, but I did get quite a few subscribers from Twitter because I placed a pinned tweet on my profile with a link to my squeeze page. And by the way, people don’t have to follow you to be able to click on your tweet links.

I will definitely be looking more into Twitter to build my following and leverage this traffic source.

If you want to know more about building your list with Twitter, check out Michael Appleton’s course Social Lead Sniper (this is not an affiliate link). He shows you how he gets 100 subscribers per day using Twitter and Instagram.

Kingged:

Kingged.com is an awesome website that was build with passion from a very experience marketer called Kingsley. He has spent years to get it where it is now and he managed to build a nice little community of bloggers there.

Kingged does NOT tolerate spam and that’s why, if you get any traffic from it, it will be laser targeted to your niche.

You can start topics or post comments on existing topics. If you post a comment, you can leave a link back to your website. They use CommentLuv for the comment system, so it’s a nice way to get backlinks too.

Google+ Communities:

Google+ Communities are an untapped traffic source that almost nobody knows about or uses. It can really bring you hoards of traffic if you use it the right way. You can find communities about anything you could think of. Each community is like a mini-forum where people share their content and read other people’s content and interact with it.

In order to take advantage of Google+ Communities, it’s better to join big ones with high numbers of members. Just hang out there for a few days and participate with value content and you will see how much traffic you will get!

Inbound.Org:

Inbound.org is another great traffic source where you can post your latest blog posts and have people share your stuff, comment on it, upvote it etc. It’s almost like Reddit, but it’s more professional.

If you are a content marketer, you will definitely want to check it out.

FREE solo ad:

I have put this one here because I actually didn’t pay for it. My good friend Jay Orban, who is also a super affiliate at Jaysonlinereviews.com offered to do a solo mail to his list for me linking to my squeeze page. I got just over 100 subscribers thanks to him and I didn’t even pay for it. Like I always say, it really does pay off to build relationships in this industry.

Jay doesn’t sell solo ads, he just helped me as a friend to jump-start my challenge. I really can’t thank him enough for what he did.

Blog Engage and Blog Engage Banner Ads:

Blogengage.com is a website that I have been hearing and reading about for quite some time, and I finally decided to join it last month when I started this challenge. It’s a content syndication platform where they share your blog feet all over social media.

It’s a paid service and their prices range from $5 a month to $40 a month or so (their prices are in GB pound so please check). They basically take your blog feed and aggregate it. They have a largo social following and their followers always share their content. So you end up getting a lot of eye balls on your stuff.

Once your content is submitted on their site, people can share it, upvote it and comment on it.

I have chosen to get their highest package because it guarantees your post on the first page. It also has quite a lot of advantages:

  • 3 banner ads promoting anything you want (including affiliate links) for a full month.
  • You get to send your new blog post to their newsletter once a week.
  • They manually post your content in related Facebook groups.
  • They build your blog authority.
  • They syndicate your YouTube videos if you have any.

I have gotten a lot of exposure with them so far this month and lots of subscribers through my banner ads too. I highly recommend this service.

Bing:

As you’ve seen on the video above, I have only started a new Bing campaign yesterday (June 9th). So far, I have gotten 8 subscribers from Bing (2 more since I made the video). My CTR leaves a lot to be desired obviously, but I will be checking back on the campaign tomorrow to see what needs to be changed etc.

So there you have it! I have just revealed everything that I have been doing for the past 30 days. I really hope that you found this helpful and that you will try some of the new traffic sources that I have used, if you didn’t know about them.

If you like this post, please share the love! Also, please leave a comment telling me what you think!
